ADRIATIC42, a first-class yard for the servicing, maintaining and repairing of yachts and superyachts, is a joint venture company of Drydocks World (a DP World company) and PM holding (wholly owned by investment Corporation of Dubai – ICD). ADRIATIC42 is strategically located in one of the safest natural harbors in the world; the enclosed Boka Kotorska Bay in Montenegro. Our aim is to redevelop it by employing the latest equipment and the industry’s most cost-effective new techniques and services to bring the country’s renowned sector skills to the Mediterranean/Adriatic Yacht market.

Buyer
Subsequently an exciting opportunity has now arisen for a highly motivated and experienced Buyer who will be responsible for sourcing and procuring materials, equipment or services, to satisfy stock replenishment and direct purchase for yacht repair, NB projects, yard maintenance & other requirements. Import, export and temporary export logistics are critical to the role due to the non-EU nature of the region.

Required qualifications, experience & skills
- Diploma in Mechanical engineering
- Minimum 5 years of experience in buying in an industrial environment / yachting industry.
- Up to date with modern purchasing methods, procedures, and specific preparation.
- Broad knowledge of international trade & shipping terms.
- Sound knowledge of technical shipyard terminology, particularly that used in Yachting industry.
- Strong background with resolution of procurement issues.
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple procurement activities concurrently and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize and successfully execute tasks in accordance with departmental / project objectives.
Key responsibilities:
- Determine and develop appropriate sources of supply and maintain cooperative working relationships with vendors to stay current with trends and technologies, products and services.
- Source yard’s requirements of materials by obtaining quotes from suitable suppliers, negotiate with them and create computerized purchase orders following evaluations of quotations obtained.
- Resolve problems and issues arising from purchase of services, supplies and equipment with internal and external clients.
- Identify repetitive purchased items to the materials control section to enable creation of these items into stock.
- Monitor outstanding purchase orders against estimated delivery dates and follow up on the deliveries to ensure on time delivery.
- Prepare insurance claims for materials damaged or lost in transit.
- Liaise with Accounts Department in order to settle disputed invoices.
- Liaise with user departments & Materials Control Section to ensure correct specifications are quoted on orders.
- Follow the day-to-day operations related to own job to ensure continuity of work.
